Getting a Vehicle.
We looked through a huge range of vehicles that might be suitable for touring across the UK and eventually Europe. Starting with Convertibles, what a lovely thought, but not nearly enough cargo space. Long Wheel base vans, high initial outlay, expensive to run and certainly more difficult to find places to park in busy cities. A 4×4 with a caravan rig, fine choice if you know where all the best sites are, but possibly limiting where you could go. All of these and a great deal more were considered and eventually discarded. The decision came down to, can we carry all the things we need, sleep in it on occasion, park it up in town and running costs.
Enter the Motability Scheme our savior. A simple phone call to an incredibly helpful young man named Matthew and we had the offer of a Hyundai I800. We had not really considered MVP’s before, because we have no reason to carry so many passengers, however as Matthew pointed out, once the rear seats and the single seat in the second row are removed the space would become cavernous and easy access achievable. Thank you Matthew for all your insights and helpfulness , you made it possible for us to make our dreams a reality.
